Lawrence Wayne Kibler

1960-2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lawrence Wayne Kibler. After a 19 month battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, the match has ended in a draw. On November 6, 2023, Wayne passed peacefully at Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound with his partner Tamalyn Bartlett by his side. He was cared for lovingly by his family in the week prior to his passing. He is survived by his partner Tamalyn, parents Harry and Noreen, brothers Doug (Ann) and Brent, children Matthew and Lauren, daughter/son in law Derrian and Braden, and grandchildren Mia, Max, James, Miles and Anna.

Born in Southampton, Ontario, Wayne spent his last days as he had many of his first, on the Ribey homestead near Port Elgin, Ontario, where he learned to run a tractor in the lap of his grandfather. After completing an agricultural business diploma at Centralia College, Wayne headed west to Saskatchewan and Alberta, working many years as a grain and cattle buyer. His vast experience eventually led him to the Fort McMurray area, where he was a well respected member of the business community. A man who could get things done and always be relied on, his breadth of knowledge meant he was the first call for many of his colleagues, and he always answered. He will be greatly missed and thought of fondly by many.

Internment of his ashes will take place at Sanctuary Park Cemetery, and a celebration of his life will take place at a date and location to be determined. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Saugeen Memorial Hospital foundation, Chapman House Hospice or a charity of your choice.
