Obituary of Mark Warren Ferry
In loving memory of our dear Mark, age 60 who passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2024, at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mark’s journey through life was filled with incredible adventures, unwavering devotion, and undeniable passion that touched the lives of all who knew him.
Mark was a true road warrior, embracing the open highways as a diehard trucker. From the vast Canadian west to the breathtaking east coast, he traversed countless miles, including the challenging ice roads of the north, hauling heavy equipment to native reserves. The road was his second home, and his dedication to his profession was unrivaled.
While Mark’s days were often spent behind the wheel, his heart belongs to his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycle. A symbol of freedom and exhilaration, his Harley was more than a machine, it was an extension of his spirit. Mark set off on his bike, a smile gracing his face as he embraced the thrill of the ride.
Beyond his thrilling escapades, Mark was a loving son, brother, nephew, and uncle. He leaves behind cherished memories with his mother, Carolyn Chalmers (nee Cox), his caring sister, Dianna Doner, and his uncles Alf (Janis), Ken, Paul, Peter (Larissa), and Aunt Janice. Mark was grateful to have his cousin, Cindy Williams contact him when he needed it most. Mark’s presence in their lives brought immeasurable joy and love.
Though we mourn Mark’s passing; we take comfort in the knowledge that he is now reunited with his pre-deceased loved ones. Mark joins his brother Johnny, His dear grandparents Joseph and Rita Cox, along with his uncles Mike, John, and his aunt Rozalyn. Together, they watch over us from the heavens above.
In our hearts, the memories of Mark will forever remain etched with love, laughter, and profound admiration. His infectious smile, his unwavering determination, and his warm spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Mark’s departure leaves an irreplaceable void in our lives, but we find solace in the cherished moments we shared.
As we bid our final farewell, we hold onto the understanding that Mark’s spirit lives on within each of us. Let us honour his memory by embracing the values he held dear – resilience, dedication, and the courage to chase our dreams fearlessly. May his legacy inspire us to live life to the fullest, just as he did. Very special thanks to the St. Thomas Hospital Chronic Care staff for their compassionate care.
Rest peacefully, dear Mark Warren, knowing that you are forever loved and deeply missed. May your eternal journey be as boundless as the open road you so passionately called home.
A cremation has taken place and Mark's interment will be with his brother and grandfather at Assumption Cemetery in Mississauga.
The family is extremely proud to say Mark’s legacy will live on thru donated organs.
A celebration of life with close family and friends will be held later. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in his memory.
