Dear Katie and Zoey,
I met your mom during my internship at Family Service Thames Valley. We had lots of good professional interactions. Later on she joined the choir and gifted us with her very lovely voice and creativity.
I am so very sorry that you have lost her. It will not be the same without her in your lives. I hope she is resting in peace and that you know she was loved by many people in the world around her.
Sincerely,
Adela ?

On behalf of WomenSpritSong choir, I want to express our collective feeling of loss at Mary Lou's passing. She was a longstanding member of the choir, had a beautiful, sonorous, alto voice which was featured solo in our CD Cycles, and was a strong presence in our alto section for many years. Her artwork was also an integral part of the life of the choir, being featured on our CD, in our celebrations, and at the choir's 20th anniversary celebration. She had a way about her that was honest, open, and fearless. I know that she was a good friend to many, myself included. Her legacy and her bravery as a person will not be forgotten. She shared her end-of-life journey with many of us, and we are grateful for the memories of her grace and spirit. I will also treasure the ukulele sing-alongs we shared this past summer, where we able to sing together again. And finally, as a choir I am sure we will cherish being able to sing a healing chant of "sending light" to her during her final days. Our condolences to the family, we know how much they meant to her.
We will Remember You...

Mary Lou had a strong powerful energy and I loved it most when she was playful. I met her at Women Spirit Song and had many chuckles with her in the Alto section. She so loved being a grandmother I'm grateful she got to experience that before going on to the next phase of her existence, where I'm sure she's having a blast with her big presence.

Indomitable spirit is a very apt description of Mary Lou. I spent many hours quilting and laughing with ML during the Laughing Yoni years. I admired her artistic creativity and her warmth of spirit. She will be missed by many people.

I met Mary Lou while we did our art therapy training together in 1987. She shone for her artistic abilities, humour, and deep commitment to alleviate suffering. I was so taken with her artistry that I bought one of her sketches that I still own today.
When I think of Mary Lou I remember a big heart and big smile. My deepest condolences to her family.

I didn't know Mary Lou very well. But when I first heard her sing at the choir, starting off the "Sending Light" chant for us, her powerful, lovely voice moved me so much, I had chills on my skin and tears in my eyes. I followed her amazing art through facebook and I had some conversations with her. She was indeed a remarkable, strong, beautiful person. My condolences to the family and friends. Hugs to you all.

To Mary Lou's family, especially to her beloved daughters,
I met Mary Lou seven years ago when I joined WomenSpiritSong choir, and we immediately recognized that we wanted to spend time together. The past seven years have been indelibly enriched for me by her presence in my life, I love her art and loved her artistry, and we shared Tuesday afternoons for six years together with four other women-- laughing, opining, weeping at times, eating dietetic confections always, nurturing our spirits with each other. Mary Lou was the centre of this gathering, always lighting us with her laughter, brilliant practical jokes and stories of practical jokes, teaching, and compassion She always spoke of her love and gratitude for her daughters Zoe and Katie , and later for that great gift of Addie who she said healed her in so many ways. The example Mary Lou set for me was to always say what she really thought and felt, stepping up to the plate to show who she really was.
I miss you May Lou and stand in your many blessings.
With Love, Susan Marino

Mary Lou was literally a second mother to me when I was in middle school. She provided warmth, stability, creativity, humour & love in one of several dark times in my life. I am grateful to have been able to reconnect again as an adult (through FB) to let her know how much of a positive influence she had on my life & my mothering, to enjoy once again her creativity & sparkle. I remember when she became a mom to Zoe & then Katie - they were the juice of her heart! Holding you all in the light, as my Quaker friend says. xoxo Jessica
