Sincere condolances to all family and friends of Gary.
I grew to know and love Gar back in the mid nineties, as I worked at the Palasad for over 14 years. But I must say, I had known Gar many years prior as he was that 'cool looking hippie fella' with the rocky racoon cap huttled up at the bar within The Ox Box (as I went through highschool, and became close friends with both Quentin & Andre Zientara).
Anyone who took the time to speak with Gar, or lucky enough to get to know him, knew he was a great person with a heart of gold. Gar and I shared many, many hours together speaking, and we also shared many personal stories together as well. One thing I must share, my older brother too passed at a young age. Gar knew my brother, so after my brother was killed in the Afghan War back in 2006, Gar always spoke of him the years following, lifting my spirits, which always ended with a good laugh over some silly story. He helped me within a great deal. This I will never forget. His love of dogs we also shared. I recall crying after he told me that his Sara had passed.
No words do proper justice when speaking of the death of a loved one, but please know many, many people cared and loved Gar. He will be missed.
My heart is with you all.
Gary will not be forgotten.
