George, you were the best neighbor anyone could ever have! Always waving hello at passersby, you put a bit of sunshine into every day. Renwick avenue won't be the same without you.

I have a few favorite “George” stories to share.
I was out driving late one night with George in East London. He had forgotten to turn on his headlights. Someone yelled from their porch through the hot summer night, “Turn on your F.....King headlights Idiot!!!”
George, the consummate gentleman replied, ”Thankyou very much, Sir!”
Then there was the hot summer night, when I was unable to sleep and I drove by George's house at 3:00 AM and the lights were on in the garage. I pulled in to find him jiving to the strains of and old rock and roll tune with a glass of whiskey in his hand.
There are lots of fascinating “George” stories that might help to unveil some of the more devilish sides of my old friend. There’s Exlax in the doggydoo, the topless women cleaning house, the slingshot and the financial institution and the many nights spent weeping with laughter on the front porch. He was one in a million and we’ll miss him like Hell! Godspeed my ol’ friend. Jon and Sue

George was one of the real ones. Would do anything for you. A talented man around bicycles or MG sport cars. We shared a few laughs together and I will always treasure those memories.

Everyone knew George. Neighbours could count on him to keep an eye out, past neighbours knew him as a fixture, casual passers by always got a greeting. George was not himself the past year or so, but maintained his devotion to visiting Yvonne and his love of local pups and kids. Wishing you peace George.
