Richard Shawn Nagle 1959-2020
Passed away at the Southampton Memorial Hospital on January 30th, in his 61st yr after a lengthy, courages battle with Parkinson’s. Shawn leaves behind his wife Pamela, his only son Travis & his wife Becky & two beautiful granddaughters, Olivia & Sylvie, his adoring mother Jerrien (Jerry), his sisters Sharon (Rod Frank) of Mississauga & Bonnie (Brad Cobean) of Port Elgin. Shawn will be fondly remembered by his nieces & nephews & great nieces & nephew, as well as Pam’s children Cory & Theresa. Shawn will also be dearly missed by Stephen & Donna Yuke & the extended family. Predeceased by his father Joseph, brother Jimmy & sister Patricia. In his younger years, Shawn could be found hanging out at Nagle’s Roller Rink in Southampton or out reeking havoc around town with his buddies. Shawn was a welder by trade, working for various companies over the years before opening Aqua Mfg. & Marine in Port Elgin with his business partner and friend Doug Schlenker. There wasn’t anything that Shawn couldn’t fix, he could just listen to a motor & tell you what was wrong with it or hear a boat miles from the lake & tell you exactly what horsepower it was. But out of all of his accomplishments nothing came close to his love for his son Travis. Shawn had a lengthy, fierce battle with Parkinson’s, which he did not fight alone, he had the support of so many that loved & cared for him who fought along side him up to the very end. Through all he endured he still had his sense of humour & that little grin was still on his face. You will be forever etched in our hearts.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 630 Green St., Port Elgin on February 28th, 1pm.
