The special memories of you will always bring a smile,
If only we could have you back for just a little while.
Then we could reminisce again the way that cousins do,
You always meant so much to us, your smile so precious too.
The fact that you're no longer here will always cause us pain,
But you're forever in our hearts until we meet again!
Rest In Peace sweet cousin, Barbie!

My deepest condolences on Barbie's passing. Barbie or 'Cuz' as I also remember her calling me whenever I saw her was a dear and cherished memory to me even though I had not seen Barbie in a very long while living out of province I do have fond memories of her warmth and gentle spirit. I remember seeing her during my childhood and then again in my teens when all the cousins, aunts and uncles would be together and she would never forget a thing about the last time we saw another. You could always tell that she loved these get-togethers and seeing everyone. The memory of her nature and character touched me and I was so saddened to hear of her battle and passing very recently. Rest in peace, Cuz. Brant Harris

“My dad, George Harris always referred to my cousin Barbie as “Boo”. I didn’t know where this had come from so thank you for this history. She was Barbie ......to me. Her hospitalization was folklore ......to me, as I only remember, being 8 years younger, of a red headed girl always staying close to home, close to her mom Aunt Marg, while I and Dougie were out running the hood in London (Alan you were too old and Susie too young) Barbie stuck close to Marg in my memory. She grew into an independent adult, I remember hearing of a boyfriend, an apartment and continuing to forge her independence through her dedicated support. My dad always looked forward to his visits with Barbie. He would often tell me about these visits and his pleasure at razzing her until she was smiling and laughing and giving it right back. We must all remember that smile. Once on her face, it was difficult to get it off. My dad loved those days and she was dear to him because he talked about his visits often.
All my love to Barbie’s family and support.

I was saddened to hear of Barb's passing. I met her 40 years ago as a support worker at Alice Saddy. She did things her way and was a true self advocate. May she rest in peace Kathy Peters
