Obituary of Minnie Ruth Young

t is with profound sadness that the family of Ruth Young announce her passing on October 14, 2021 at the age of 96. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Robert Young and her son Douglas Young. She is survived by her daughter Lynn Shea and her husband Jim, her son Bobbi Young, his wife Geni, and daughter Maddison. Also mourning their special "Nan" are granddaughters Ami, Karyn, Megan and family. Her precious great-grandchildren Robbie, Matthew, Molly, Charlotte and Violet along with many nieces and nephews.

Born in Algonquin Highlands to the late Florence and Allan Sisson, Ruth spent much of her youth helping on the farm with her three siblings. Ruth was an independent, tenacious, and driven woman from an early age. She always knew what she wanted out of life and went for it! Her work experience was impressive with a variety of roles including Real Estate Sales, her position with the Attorney General/Ontario Courts and her lifelong dedication to the Anglican church, and a 60-year proud membership with the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank the health care team at University Hospital, London, Ontario for their compassion and care particularly the Cardiac Care Unit.

Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be held at St. James Westminster Anglican Church, London, Ontario, N6C 1E7 at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 19, 2021. Please use Bruce Street entrance.

The family invtes all those that are double vaccicnated to attend the service, however attendance is limited due to Covid 19 restrictions. Please pre-register by calling the church at 519-432-1915 by Monday October 18 between 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
