ALLEN, Ivy May "Maisie"

Peacefully, at Extendicare London, with her daughter, Stephanie Jane Allen, and Stephanie's best friend, Pauline Pudney, at her side, Maisie (Fox) Allen, on January 29, 2022, just 3 weeks after her 93rd birthday.

Beloved wife of the late John Hartill Allen, predeceased by her parents and sister-in-law Fay. Missed by brother Bob Fox and her 4 generations of nieces and nephews in Canada and England.

A kindergarten teacher for most of her 30 year career, Maisie touched the lives of hundreds of children and parents across the city of London. She was also a 55 year member of the DKG Society International, a world wide women teachers organization, and she faithfully attended their local and provincial meetings, as well as yearly conventions, across North America and in Europe.

Maisie was an avid traveler, visiting over 60 countries, including taking 2 trips around the world and 15 cruises. Always physically active, right into her 90’s, Maisie was a figure skater and downhill skier at the London Skating and Ski Clubs for more than 50 years and she also enjoyed cycling, hiking, camping, canoeing, gardening, bird watching, photography and playing the piano.

Please join us for a Celebration of Maisie's Life on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul's Cathedral, London, Ontario (on Richmond St. across from the Grand Theatre). Reception to follow at the church. Parking at the rear of the Cathedral off Queens Ave and Clarence St. behind 200 Queens as well as on the street. Please note that Queens Ave is under construction.
