My greatest condolences Anne Marie. I am so sad to learn of Ron's passing. It was always an adventure exchanging witticisms with him; you couldn't win, but fun nevertheless. Christmas in July was always an annual highlight. Ron was such a wonderful person and I know you'll miss him, sorely. My best wishes to you in this difficult time.

Oh, Anne Marie, I am so sorry. He was a wonderful man and I have so many fond memories of times spent at your home. I remember once when you were dyeing material in the yard and had dye everywhere and I said to Ron, "Your wife is a mess!" and he replied, "Yes, but she cleans up beautifully." You two had such a lovely relationship and enjoyed each other so much. May God wrap his arms around you and give you comfort!
With love, Marilyn Boycott

My deepest sympathy and sorrow for you Ann Marie. Ron was so deeply clever and so quick witted. Those years in Mac's 2nd floor staff room left indelible memories. I always chuckled over his love of the Lions, no matter what and the phrase he introduced me to when discussing another failing effort by his team "snatched defeat from the jaws of victory". I always loved that no matter how witty Ron was, you were his match! His love of his craft was so evident to those around him. To have a serious conversation with Ron, was always enlightening. My world is a little smaller and sadder today.

'Oh dear' was my expression when I saw the notice of Ron's passing. With his quick wit yet serious attention to detail as a teacher at 'Sir John A' back in the 1970's, he was a stable influence on his learners. His life was complete when he became your partner, Ann Marie. I've nothing but many fond memories and wish we could have met up more frequently.

As a school assignment, I once had to interview a teacher to gain their perspective on how the profession was changing. I called Uncle Ron and could hear lots of people in the background and knew that I had just interrupted a gathering they were having. A bit deflated, I explained why I was calling and said "it sounds like you are busy though," and he told me he was. Then he said "but I will make time for you, ask away." Such a small gesture, but such a big impact. You will be missed.

I was one of those lucky gals who was part of a family with two older brothers, Ron being the eldest. No matter how much I bothered him, from childhood right up to when I knew better and long past, he always had time for me. Whether it was to share a laugh, some of his wisdom, a wee dram of wine or spirits, or as a ready and willing partner to attend Piping Down the Sun at the Goderich shore, Ron was always available. It may come as a surprise to many to learn that not everyone enjoyed the melodic tones of the bagpipes. Our Patrick ancestors would be horrified!
Ron was humourous, kind, loving, forgiving and an all-round special brother and friend!
Love you and miss you Ron!

Uncle Ron was so kind, intelligent, and what I’ll miss the most is his sense of humour. I always loved his stories about all the interesting and exotic places he travelled. I used to love hearing the calming sound of the Detroit Tigers games on the radio whenever we would visit. We will miss you dearly.

Mr. Patrick was my grade 7 teacher many years ago at Arthur Ford. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, wit and acceptance as a teacher. We still speak of him today. That’s the kind of impact he had on us. Rest In Peace Ron!
