My condolences to Anthony and all Carol Ann’s family. Given my own sense of loss, I cannot imagine the void you must feel.
Carol Ann and I met in nursing school in 1985. Ten years older than most of us nursing students, Carol Ann became the self-appointed den mother to us “youngsters” as she liked to call us.
Carol Ann loved nursing and she was a go-getter. After graduation, we ended up in Halifax where nursing jobs were scarce then. One day in mid-winter, I got a call from Carol Ann. “Di, have you seen all the nursing jobs in Toronto!? Come on, let’s go!!”
So, off to the big city we went in Carol Ann’s little red Mustang convertible.
Our lives took us to different parts of the world, but Carol Ann made sure to stay in touch. If you were lucky enough to be in her inner circle, you knew her loyalty and how much she cherished her family and friends.
Even through her battle with cancer, Carol Ann never lost her determination or her sense of humor. When you called Carol Ann to cheer her up, you were the one who ended up laughing.
Still, for all her adventures and successes, Carol Ann’s greatest joy was being a mother to Anthony. That joy was so obvious she didn’t even have to say it, although she often did. The way she spoke about Anthony, you could feel the pride and love for him radiate from her- even over the phone.
Carol Ann was one of a kind. I miss you already, dear friend.

Our sincere condolences to Anthony, Debbie & Brad and other family members.
Carol Ann will be deeply missed. She was my long time friend of over 48 years, always the best friend, so loving, kind and generous. We first met as teenagers playing broomball on the same team in the arena at P.A.B., NL. From there we became fast friends and she would always swing around after supper and pick me up in her little car and we would drive all over the place. She loved to drive and always liked to be on the go. We have stayed in touch all these years and Paul, Matthew (Mattie to Carol Ann) and I visited Carol Ann when she lived in Florida. As soon as we got there she would have all sorts of fun things planned for us. She loved Florida and often took trips back there. Paul and I even got engaged at her and Eugene’s place in Orlando 28 years ago. I will sorely miss Carol Ann but my heart is full of happy memories from all the years of fun times we shared together. Rest in peace dear friend!
Love Jane. xo
