Robert "Dennis" Gourley

1947-2022

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Gourley, beloved husband of Barbara (Lockhart) and loving father and mentor of daughters Shelley and Jan and loving GrandD of his wonderful grandson Julian. Dennis passed on June 11, 2022 at the age of 74 surrounded by his family after a short and courageous battle with cancer. He will be deeply missed and live on in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Barbara of nearly 52 years, his loving daughters Shelley and Jan and loving grandson Julian as well as his brothers Edward (Carol), David (Verna) and sisters Barbara Mills and Linda (Victor) McKeown and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Winston and his mother, Georgene Tomilson (Gourley) and his brother, Neville and his brother-in-law, David Mills.

Dennis was born and grew up in Fredericton, NB, but lived in London, ON for the past 35 and a half years. He was a graduate of the Saint John NB Institute of Technology and was retired after being an auto technician for 40 plus years.

Dennis loved the great outdoors and was an avid motorcyclist and golfer for many years when he was well.

In keeping with his wishes, no funeral service, no visitation and cremation with interment at a later date will take place.

The family wishes to thank the Doctors and all of the staff at LHSC and the Parkwood Institute Palliative Care Unit  for his care and support to his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or any charitable organization of choice.
