Obituary of Wade Jackson
It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Richard Wade Jackson of Southampton in his 42 nd. year.
Wade will be remembered fondly for the light and love he brought into the lives of everyone he met, but especially his friends and family. With his infectious smile and laugh, he would light up an entire room and quickly have everyone laughing along with him or intently listening to a story. His passions included music, sports, his dogs and golf. Along with his quick wit and ability to give the best bear hugs, Wade had a knack for making people feel special and always managed to let those closest to him know how much he loved them.
Wade followed in his “Papa” Bill’s footsteps and forged a career as a commercial fisherman, joining the family business and quickly earning his place on the boats with his hard work and good humor, easily bonding with all those lucky enough to work with him.
Wade is survived by his treasured partner Seattle Dredge, loving mother Margo Jackson, cherished grandmother Sharon Jackson, Uncle Greg Jackson & Aunt Marcie Leeder (Jackson) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who deeply love and miss him.
He is predeceased by his father Allen McCormick, cherished grandfather “Papa” William ( Bill) Jackson.
A celebration of life for Wade will be held on Sunday August 28, at Sovie Stables 1769 Bruce-Saugeen Townline Road, Municipality of Kincardine, highlighted by a Fish Fry from 2 - 5pm and followed by a social gathering. One of Wade’s biggest wishes was to commemorate the life and passing of his “Papa” Bill with a fish fry, which due to covid restrictions at the time the family was unable to have. At this gathering we will try and fulfill this wish as we honor Wade and celebrate not only him but “Papa” Bill as well, as we know how happy that would have made him.
Though Wade won’t be here to comfort us, make us laugh or capture us with a story, we can take solace knowing he will be fishing in heaven and watching over his friends, family and the Great Lakes with “Papa” Bill.
