Scott Meades was so helpful when Marty’s mom had a tumour. He gave clear instructions about what to eat and how to starve the tumour to prolong her life. He checked in often. For decades I could reach out to Scott anytime out of the blue, about anything, and it felt comfortable. He was such a good hearted and beautiful person.
My best image of him is when he was in grade 7/8 at Tecumseh. I would have been in grade 3/4. He wore a pink Ralph Lauren button down and had a Ralph Macchio hair cut. Omg, that shirt was so cool. Later that year he cut his hair really short on the sides —like a Mohawk. Almost all of the boys at our school copied that haircut eventually.
He once rescued me from a bully who had pulled on me so hard that he ripped all of the buttons off of my sturdy wool duffle coat. Scott saved me and comforted me and found me some shoes—mine were no longer on my feet. He was a hero and a trailblazer; always forward thinking, ahead of the curve and using his powers for the greater good—a Meades. My deepest sympathies to the Meades family.
RIP, hero ❤️

The world has lost such a wonderful person in Scott. I met Scott through work when I joined his department as a newbie to technology. he was always so easy to talked to and willing to help whenever you wanted to talk about work and life. He in fact even opened his own apartment to help celebrate my upcoming wedding at the time...which was totally unexpected. I think I will always take away what a fighter he was and always will be no matter where he is. He was the toughest man I knew with the biggest, kindest heart. My condolences to Kendra and all his family and friends. Ed and Sarah

I had been keeping up on Scott fight on FB but then that page was discontinued...
Although I moved on from Manulife in 2015, I kept in touch with the work fam and so I heard immediately of Scott's passing. I felt an immediate sadness, but then inspiration for his fight for his LiFe. And then more smiles and positive feelings as I recollected our various interactions --- what a personality!!! Nicely captured in this very well written Obit...
Once at work, he made a great attempt to stop smoking so he told me of his plans and gave me all his cigarettes (tons in a huge ziplock bag to store away). Also told me to keep his usual smoking buddies away from him that would come by to go for a smoke. I met with all those smoking buddies and warned them off.
He did a great job...and it lasted quite a while. He displayed several memorable behaviours during the time that entertained us all.
And then there was the time I forgot my utensils for my home cooked lunch and asked over the cubicles if anyone had a plastic fork. Scott's response: "pre-licked or not"?
And we all recalled when he got "huge" during his workout stint at the gym...
And his interaction with our mutual coworker and friend:
"That is a really nice shirt Garth..."
Garth beaming with pleasure; "Thanks Scott"
Scott "Do they sell them in Men's sizes"?
Scott had a big heart and he touched a lot of lives and I remember him very fondly. I miss him...
So glad I got a chance to experience his diverse personality which led to his various explorations --- he indeed led an interesting LiFe and those of us who knew him well, was lucky as we got to live vicariously through some of his experiences.
I connected with Scott on many levels and he left a good mark on me... and I apply some of his spirit and zest in some of my doings...
Through our interaction I also knew;
...Scott loved Kendra intensely...
...Meades Productions and Artist Mgmt, the Tattoo Parlor experiences...
...Scott knew his job...
...His Weimaraner...
...The big dude he was surprisingly able to, because he had to, pound the lights out of because he hurt that animal.
Condolences to Family and Friends...I will remember Scott with a smile.
Always.

My deepest condolences. I was a friend of Scott's in hight school and we had talked about getting together to do a tattoo. He wanted to do something silly we had talked about. So sad I didn't get that chance to sit and catch up and laugh about some of the trouble we all got into as kids. Rest peacefully

My deepest condolence Barb and Doug, Kate and Peter. We were neighbours on Gerrard St in London growing up. Scott was a mischievous young lad with a huge heart and a beautiful smile. Always incredibly polite, caring and kind. I was so happy to hear how he had grown into a wonderful young man who will be missed by so many. Heaven has gained another kind, gentle soul.

My deepest condolences to the Meades family following the sad news of Scott's passing.
I worked with Scott in the same CTS department side by side for close to ten years at Manulife. Having shared many lunchtimes, stories and life experiences with Scott, we became good friends, laughing all the time and getting into trouble at work or during our walks through Yorkville. He was always comical with the funniest of sayings, but also had a big heart and was always generous and caring. Though we lost touch over the years, I always go back and will forever remember those days of laughter he brought into my life and those around him.
Stay well my friend, and know you will forever be missed.
