Obituary of Burrell Francis Hooper

HOOPER, Burrell Francis - It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, Burrell Francis Hooper, March 28, 2016 at the age of 91. Loving husband to the late Florence Kathleen Hooper (1997). Beloved father to Don (Faye), Bill (Marge), Dianne Ennis (Bill) and Shirley Holland (Kim). Predeceased by his son Ron. Cherished grandpa to his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dad enjoyed his childhood years growing up in Old South London. He was one of 8 siblings, sisters Lillian, Mildred, Mable, Elaine, and brothers Gerald, Joe and Mac. Dad had served overseas in WWII. Following his return home he purchased 5 acres outside of Hyde Park where Mom and Dad raised their family. He enjoyed a career with George Whites and Son, servicing tractors throughout the rural areas of Ontario and Quebec. He later changed careers working for Fine Papers until his retirement. Dad’s hobby was the restoration of classic cars. He was very proud to have owned and restored a Model A, Model T and a 1953 Mercury. Dad was a special friend to the late Peggy Brockett and most recently Marion Smith. Together they attended seniors’ euchre, coffee time, while enjoying each other’s friendship. He was a loving father with a kind heart for everyone. Dad, you will be forever in our hearts. We love you. In keeping with Dad’s wishes cremation has taken place.
