Obituary of Joseph James Lefneski

Joe ended his journey surrounded by love on Sunday January 1, 2017. He was loved and will be missed by his husband Stephen, sons Josh and Zach and newest family member Jacob. Joe was predeceased by his father Ernie and sisters Ruth and Rebecca. His mother Joy and siblings Steve, Paul, Phillip, David and Pauline will miss their baby brother. Joe was loved and supported by his extended family Ian, Marilyn, Donna and Sharon who welcomed him into their lives with open arms. Joe made an impact on everyone he came in contact with which is evident by the outpouring of support from his brother/sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and community members. Joe will leave behind his legacy through all of the quilts that he created and gifted to others and as well as the memories we all have from his kind, caring, generous spirit to his wacky, off-beat sense of humour. At Joe's request there will not be a formal funeral, but the family will be hosting an open house on Sunday January 8, 2017 from 1:00-5:00 pm. There will be a celebration of Joe's life on Saturday June 3, 2017 from 4:00 - 9:00 pm as he would like his friends and family to enjoy his backyard, share a pot luck together and share stories of his life. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Joe's name would be appreciated.
