I lived across the street from Mary and George on Emery Street for several years. He would sit on the porch and wave when I left for work and when I got home. He cooked delicious food and shared it with me, he poured me many a cocktail and told endless stories. Mary was always lovely, and in his own scruffy way, George was always incredibly kind to me. He was a fixture on our street and one of those neighbors I will never forget.
